Entrevista ao actor Kim Coates

O actor canadiano Kim Coates, que desempenha o papel de Alex "Tig" Trager na série Sons of Anarchy (SoA) do canal FX, deu recentemente uma entrevista ao site Monsters and Critics.

"Tig" é sem dúvida o mais cruel (e ao mesmo tempo mais cómico) "bad boy" de SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Originals) e é um fiel seguidor de Clarence "Clay' Morrow (Ron Perlman), o líder e presidente do grupo de bikers da pequena cidade californiana de Charming, que está em rota de colisão com o vice-presidente e seu enteado Jackson "Jax" Teller (Charlie Hunnam).

Coates, que protagonizou as cenas mais violentas e, como já referi também, engraçadas (de puro humor negro) da primeira temporada de SoA, revela uma conversa que teve com o criador da série Kurt Sutter no início das filmagens desta segunda temporada:

"Kurt pulled me aside before we started shooting," Kim said. "He told me that it was going to be a funny year for him, that he had kind of lost his ‘mojo’ and was in a bad place over the thing with Donna."

"Initially, you know, (Ron) Perlman and I were late cast additions to the series, and the shaping of Tig was a process, I had to trust Kurt that, well, I am very careful with my bad boys, and I wanted to strike the right balance of humor with his tough as nails attitude, he’s a psychopath! A lot of the stuff he does is sick, but interesting to watch. But I wanted Tig to also have heart, but the Donna thing of course was wrong on so many levels, and Tig this season really has a hard time with it…he’s lost his way a little."
